You always hear about how fast Trek's Superfly 6 is. It's winning this race, it's crushing this course, etc. But that's only part of the story. On everyday trails, you'll love the light, efficient aluminum frame with Gary Fisher's G2 geometry, the 100mm RockShox Reba fork, and the tubeless-ready Bontrager wheels and tires that roll over practically anything. SRAM adds a 2x10 drivetrain with a crisp X9 Type 2 derailleur so dropped chains are a thing of the past, and Shimano hooks you up with powerful disc brakes. Take all of this, along with reliable Bontrager controls, and add its legendary handling, and you have a completely capable trail machine that just also happens to be adept at winning.

Trek's G2 Geometry (version 2 of Gary Fisher's Genesis Geometry) delivers the ultimate ride for every trail. Genesis earned rave reviews for awesome handling on climbs and descents thanks to a long top tube paired with a short stem that moves the front wheel forward for top-notch confidence and control, while short chainstays add phenomenal traction. G2 Geometry takes these handling traits to the next level by boosting control on tight singletrack and technical climbs, too. This is accomplished by increasing the amount of fork offset (reducing trail), which makes G2 bikes steer more quickly, and by shortening the reach, which puts more weight on the front wheel for even better control and confidence. The two animations above showcase how G2 Geometry provides the perfect ride. |
Trek’s premium lightweight aluminum is continuously cold extruded and butted at multiple points for ultimate weight reduction and superior strength. Frames built with Trek’s Alpha Platinum aluminum are hydroformed to create the most sophisticated shapes for the lightest weight, and are finished using their smooth-weld process.

Comments:
I love this bike! It has been a great bike to learn the ropes of mountain biking on. I feel confident and in control on trails and appreciate this bike's durability. Ride quality is great, although I think it could be greatly improved with upgraded wheels. Despite the aluminum frame the bike is relatively light and agile feeling on trails. The brakes on this bike feel great as well. From learning the basics to conquoring my first cross country races, this bike is exactly what I needed to learn the ropes of mountain biking and continue to grow in the sport for years to come.
